Paper Flower Tutorial

I came across these incredible paper flowers and I just had to make them (then made like 100, I loved them so much) Now, I’ve created a tutorial to share the love!  Perfect adornments for gifts, cards and even wall art!  Art project using these, here!  

I found helpful tutorials here and on YouTube but I tweaked them using my own pictures and directions to make it simpler and more my style!   
you'll need:

• double sided patterned paper OR two types of patterned paper
• circle punch (I used Fiscars 1 ½ inch punch)
• glue stick or liquid glue
• flower center (I used vintage buttons)

Punch out 8 circles on double sided paper or 16 circles (8 with each pattern). I used 1 ½ " punch here.  Also, I found an incredible 1957 vintage Scandinavian map that I used for my circles as well as a beautiful orange patterned paper from the craft store.  Any paper that you have will look great, even solid colors!

If your using 2 types of patterned paper, using a glue stick, glue both circles together (patterns facing out)
Fold them in half and then half again, so that the circles are divided in four quarters.

Fold two sections in so that you will get a point.

Turn the circle over and fold again so that the two edges meet in the middle.

 Do the same with all 8 circles.

Cut out a circle that’s a little smaller than the diameter of your petals. This is to glue all the pedals to, it doesn't matter what color it is, you wont be seeing it.

Cover large circle in glue stick/liquid glue, I’ve found that these work better than tape or hot glue because you have a little time to slide your petals around making sure they fit together well before it dries completely.

Start with attaching the pedals to the circle.  I found it easiest (after numerous trial and errors) to start with four N,S,E,W like a compass, then going back with the other 4 between the other petals to make sure they are spaced evenly.

Finally, add something pretty to the center!  I added some adorable vintage buttons to mine.



Beautiful Bedding

I just could NOT wake up this morning!  My bed is sooooooo comfortable and warm and I keep my room pitch black while I sleep (which is partly the problem)  I finally forced myself to get outta bed and get some coffee and add a post on my blog.  What a good day for some beautiful pictures of beautiful beds, mmmmm, I just wanna jump into these and snuggle...

Vogue Patterns

2008, Vogue Italy asked Steve Meisel to do something crazy.  Meisel created a complete sensory overload: overlapping colors and patterns scattered randomly across the frame pulled together by models sprawled across wearing similar or complimentary patterns to those underneath them. And within these seas of color there are a great number of palette possibilities.
