My Love of Bookshelves
What better way to fill a open wall then floor to ceiling books. Booksheleves are works of art in their own right. BEAUTIFUL examples!
Love that these books are organized by color!

Artist Spotlight - Hollie Chastain
Tennessee artist Hollie focuses mainly on vintage paper collages and is very much inspired and influenced by the forest, animals, and fairy tales and love visual storytelling. I love the retro feel and her use of non traditional color schemes. (via)

My love of book shelves!
Looking back on my entries, I have come to notice a common theme in my interior design photos. It didnt even occur to me how many entries feature BOOK SHELVES. This is something I was doing subconciously, but ohh is it a beautiful way to fill a space. Books make a room feel inviting, well lived in, and extremely personal. Books tell alot about their owners...their personality, interests, passions etc. Here are some great examples of different way to display your books.

Artist Spotlight - Mike Stilkey
What a unique point of view!

"Los Angeles native Mike Stilkey has always been attracted to painting and drawing not only on vintage paper, record covers and book pages, but on the books themselves. Using a mix of ink, colored pencil, paint and lacquer, Stilkey depicts a melancholic and at times a whimsical cast of characters inhabiting ambiguous spaces and narratives of fantasy and fairy tales. A lingering sense of loss and longing hints at emotional depth and draws the viewer into their introspective thrall with a mixture of capricious poetry, wit, and mystery."
